    Salomon Binding Toe "Wiggle"

Ok, so I did a little searching and didn't find much of anything. Here is my question, I am on Salomon 912 Ti's and I am having some issues with the toe piece. Basically, every one or two days that I am on them I adjust the toe piece (the lateral one, i.e. brings the "wings closer together) and inevitably they losen back up.

So I have a few questions.

    1. Is this common and am I just going to have to come to grips with the fact that I need to carry a flathead to adjust these regularly? . . . . and

    2. How much toe wiggle is neccessary? I mean, how close to touching the sides of my boots should the "wings" come?

If you understand what I am trying to say I would appreciate any advice/info. If not let me know and I will try to clarify more.

    Check your toe height!!!

Check out the toe height adjustment, if that isn't adjusted correctly the toe width won't stay adjusted correctly.

I know tons of people, including myself that have had this problem. Haven't found a solution to it other than continually adjusting it.

many people report problems with the toe wings. Try backing off on the bindings and readjusting everything over again. If it doesnt do the trick then use some locktite to keep the screws where you need them. I believe there is another post very similar to yours with all the correct lingo on how to correctly adjust the salomons.

Plastic Solly binders (912 & 914) suck! I have 914s on my NKOs and pretty much hate them. They make creaking sounds like they're going to explode any minute and the toe wings loosen all the time. From what I've been able to gather, the creaking is normal. But it's not the most inspiring sound.

I had a huge thread on the subject before "the great loss" over at powdermag. Ya it happens a lot, not supposed to happen, never had it happen on my race stock sollies, just the plastic ones, make sure there is no viewable space under your boot with toe height adjustment and then tighten wings till they just touch the boot, repeat as needed. Or buy metal bindings....lookzr5,rossiFKS18.5/Pivot18/916 etc...

Stuff you put on bolts so that they do not back out on their own. Personally i would try some silicon or somethign like that first before loctite. The skrews and plastic in the toe piece seem to be very weak. i already have had 1 pair warrantied for the skrew getting stripped/really tight/i dont have a clue what happend.

screw glue(?). you put it in the screw before you screw the screw in. the are three different strengths. green, blue and red, wich is sooooo strong, that you have to heat the subject/object to get screw to unscrew.

Get the Rossi Freeride Pro Axial 120. No toe piece adjustments. Just lock and load and hold on for the ride

This weekend I noticed one toepiece on my 912ti's was making a creaking/snapping sound when I was skating on the flats...this is the result of improper toe height adjustment perhaps???

Mr.AG and I both developed this with Salomon bindings. We just went with the "check it all the time" method until we got new skis and switched to Rossis. Loctite or something would probably do the trick though.

Are they on demo tracks? My tyrollias wiggle when not locked in. Although I am having some problems with the heel peice moving in the track. In fact on a nice icy day at baker I happened to hit a little small face(Under chair 7) first run and pop out sending me backward and upside down into the icy flats of the grommer. Not fun.
    No.
