The circle is nearly complete - My move to PC
The last month has been very interesting for the Gadget family. We moved out of our Salt Lake home a week before closing so we could get the kids registered for school in Park City. Since then we have been moving from one place to another on a weekly basis awaiting the closing date on our new home.
Our contract closing date was Monday the 18th, but our closing docs were at the title company last Thursday. The 14th being Mrs. Gadget's birthday, I called her about 2 PM and asked what she was doing. "Working" was the reply I expected and received. I asked her if she would like to close on the house for her birthday and she said "REALLY?". I told her it wouldn't mean we get the keys any sooner, but it would be one less hurdle to cross.
Skipping ahead . . . . we got the keys to our new home last night! Considering we had been in our old house for nearly 17 years and migrant condo dwellers for the last month; it feels a bit strange, and exciting, to be moving into this new chapter of our lives. While I'm not looking forward to emptying a 45' trailer, I'm not enjoying living out of a suitcase. The trailer with all our worldly possessions arrives Friday morning. Good thing too, I didn't think to pack winter clothes in the middle of August.
I've also changed my cell number, so, as powstash put it, I can "fit in with the mucky-mucks." If you have my old number and want/need my new number, please send me a PM.
It feels good to be home.
A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.
