    Question Fat Ski question

I'm looking to get some new powder boards for this season. I usually ski in like the 70-75 range.. I'm probably about 178 in height. Right now I'm looking at a pair of suggar daddies that are 183s.. Since they're a little softer I'm not too worried that they're bigger. Any thoughts from powder ski experts out there about desired length... ??

    thx

I thought that was clearly sarcastic, but apparently not.

    PM splat.

PM Gear is coming out with the follow up to the BRO model.

It's called the JONG model. They'd be perfect for you.

That's about 14 feet, I would suggest a ski some where around 3 meters.

    Question length!!!

I'm 5' 10". Google says thats about 178 centimeters. My Rossi scratches are 173 cm in length. The Sugar Daddies I'm looking to buy are 183 in length..

So, here's my question: Powder skis are supposed to be big and fat, but should they be long too?? I'm not too worried because sugar daddies are light and flexible. Any expertise?

you don't want them too fat, because if they go under the snow, it'll be harder to get them up out of it (think about the amount of surface area on the skis vs. the weight of snow on top per sq. inch. also factor length into the sq. foot equation. don't go any longer than 160. also, there's a tendency to hit buried stuff in deep snow, so you'll want to mount them with a decent off-piste binding. markers have a biometric toe release, which is good for those surprise rocks and will save your knees.

I wouldn't say that the Sugar Daddy is flexible. They are about in the middle of the stiffness range.
