Not going off in this pic but on it's day this place is fantastic. The treck down the cliff and the remote location mean that this place is often empty. Porthcurno and Gwinver nearby are also pretty sweet..... Cornwall, less exotic than most places, but still not bad.

    yo yo

I was on my 6'2" Webber (go look at the first pic in the new quiver thread)

the board felt small, i was getting in super late. I wish i had my new patagonia step-up with me at the time.

Winki was going off as well. but it was super crowded. And I, unlike most kids down in vici, like surfering the bells bowl more than winkipop

Head high + Rocky Rights was pretty sic. Surfing with green sea turtles and kissing the coral after milking the wave way to far inside was fun. Oh, and maybe 4 others going right in crystal clear warm water.

Cuatro Casas, Baja does not suck on a good SW swell with the right tide.

Longest ride ever was at Ventura point taking off at the tip of the point. Section after section after section all the way into C street was a serious thigh burner. I had it all to myself too with many surfers looking to drop in on me but thankfully they didn't because I woulda run their asses over.

Maxed out Morro Bay was scary with only a sponger out in the water with me. The only time I felt like I was about to drown when I got caught inside and a huge set rolled through the channel during my paddle back out. Fuggin' huge!

Full moon sessions at Leo with the moon light glowing green through the back of the wave.

Night sessions at Malibu while the phosphorescent glow is pearling up over the nose of your board and trailing behind every stroke or behind the little bait fish swimming by.

Going right at Zeros around X-mas time.

    Thanksgiving at the Strand.

Dolphines surfing the waves at Pt. Dume and then catching air out the back at the end of their ride.

    Sea otters at Hazards.

Trail Harbour in Tasmania, no crowds, good waves and yeah amazing place. The road is as rough as all fuck, take a rental or your car comes home with new rattles in it. I'd love to get to Fluffys but don't have the skills or balls.

    point dume

I surfed point dume for the first time about a month ago. swell was about head high + 1 or 2 feet. we were surfing the beachy inbetween big and little. man what a perfect Right when it's working. big and little were not doing shit, but the wave inbetween was. weird. pretty dam fast too. I was on a 5'9" twinny rocket fish that just haulled down the line.

Damn soup, I'd say take me with you on your next trip but I wouldn't want my paleness to ruin your dark skin cred.

I've caught a lot of the decent spots in costa rica at least once....double overhead at salsa (by far the best), 5-6 at negra, 6-8 at escondidas, overhead at grande multiple days.......bruja was crap the only time we went up there....several smallish longboard days at dominical with the surf-tec guys supplying the boards back when those things were still prototypes.

I'd have to scan all my pics they're so old.

Scary surfing perfect little barrels within inches of the rocky cliff? Yeah! Its the only place that I have seen anyone air lifted out by a heli when it was only 2-3 foot. I prefer the smokin' rights in the bay with nobody on it (on a Saturday or Sunday even). Edit: And how can you go wrong with topless sunbathers on the beach?

BTW, Malibu can be surfed any night due to the street lights on PCH. Glowing footsteps in the sand at Leo combined with the light show in the water and the scary submerged rock in the takeoff zone makes for a much more interesting experience. Throw in backlit walls of the moonlight showing through the wave....golden.

looking at the wave, looking at the wall, looking at the rock sticking out from the wall, looking at the wave.....my buddy got a tube and it terrified me.

i've only surfed the bay with like 10 guys, it's fun, but racing the wave before it hits the inside rock ledge is a bit hairy.

the only time you can hit leo with less than 30 guys is at night.

After 2 in the morning out at Leo solo is kinda scary too. Extra scary when there is a dead dolphine caught in the kelp in the line up.

havent surfed it yet but I will this sunday. This wave isnt too big but the day its was taken there were some monsters rolling through and the locals were killing it. I've eyed it quite a few times but its always on my way back from breaks farther north and I wasnt too keen on surfing in such a heavy shorey when I beat. It has a real long barrel section on it that on better days can get pretty deep.
