    Italian Alps

Long story short, I was going to Rome 3 days before the world cup final and my trip got canceled due to buisness. None the less I can't get a refund for my ticket so I'm just moving the date to this December and making a ski trip out of it.

My father's friend has a condo in Bormio, just north of Milan. Just wanted to know if anyone has skiied the Alps. I'm going to rent my board and what not but I'm sure that won't be a big problem. I think I have access to 3 different mountains with my lift ticket but I'm not 100%

Never been to Bormio, but this type of thread might do better in Ski/Snowboard or hookup.

    Alagna/Cervinia/Champoluc/Gressoney blew my mind, though.

Went to Bormio during what now seems like another life. Party town, lot's of drunken vacationers on package trips, skiing was kind of "meh" but not sure what you're after.

There are lot's of far better places to ski in Italy and probably lots that are far worse.

We chose bormio because of our friends that own a condo there but I agree with you, lots of mountains in the alps =] Honestly this is my 3rd snowboard trip, I'm no expert by all means, but I'm acutally pretty decent. I'm mainly looking for powder. There are some hot springs there too right? Either way I'm going to have a blast.

I live in milan. Bormio's nice but is certainly not the best spot you can reach from italian airports. The monte rosa area (macugnaga-alagna-gressoney-champoluc) for instance, is much closer to the milan airport where flights from US usually land (malpensa). PM me for more insight

... and yes, as usually, go where the snow is. if you want to come in december, than many spots might still be very dry, so STAY FLEXIBLE

I skied on the glacier at Ski Adamello back in July of 04. Looked like a nice area (Passo Tonale) and I've also hiked around the Madonna Di Campilio area which looked nice too
