Back in Black (or Blue, actually)
Well, to celebrate the fact that I no longer have to go to the hospital five days a week and get pumped full of meds, I decided to go skiing today. So I headed up to Blue Mtn. in the Lehigh Valley for some turns. It was a bluebird day, and a layer of snow still remains over PA. Blue was a lot better than I expected as far as size and terrain. Granted, I wasn't expecting much, so it didn't take much to impress me.
The only thing that sucked was that it must've been the biggest gaper convention I have ever seen- and considering I used to work in the rental shop at Hunter, that's saying something. I don't think I had a single lift ride where the chair didn't stop because some gaper fell off the lift. I used to wonder where Warren Miller found all those knuckleheads who couldn't grasp the simple idea of unloading from the lift, but I do now. The lift lines were the longest I have ever waited in, I was only getting about 3 runs an hour. Considering that the place only has 1000' of vert which I was bombing down in less than 2 minutes should give you an idea how long I spent waiting in line while some slowboarder ran across my tails.
But hey, I'm back on skis, and that's all that matters.
