Sounds like they may have made a good call on terrain selection that they skied/rode, (skiing trees), but perhaps they didn't consider start zones as the article said the slide started 500 meters above them, which could have been in an adjacent bowl. Not knowing the terrain I can only theorize. Either way, sad for sure.
