The soreness is pretty much gone but I'm still limping a bit and feel some pressure. I can clearly feel a hole where the handlebar stabbed me. Is this normal and if not is there anything they can do? Thanks.

    Did you

    1. ride a bunch after you did it
2.drink a lot of booze that night
3.not elevate it when you got home
    4. wrap it tightly when you got home

I've gotten bruised from handlebars a bizillion times but none of them that charismatic. Generally speaking though, I have noticed that any of the above conditions make bruising a LOT worse.

    1. rode about two miles home. It hurt less to pedal than walk.
    2. 2 shots and 2 beers
    3. elevated and iced it.
    4. no wrap. I passed out pretty quick as I landed on my head.

I'm not so much concerned about the bruise as much as the soft hole in my thigh muscle. I can feel where the handlebar went in and hard tissue where it seems to be pushed up in a mass.

That's kind of normal. Bunch of blood, platelets etc all in action at the site. You may have actually hit it hard enough to have torn a little bit of muscle. In my experience that knot lasts longer than the bruise but just stretch it a bit every day and get back to using it as soon as lack of pain allows. If you did damage some muscle, using it will keep it from staying knotted up.
