Gnar Cal: CCCX Downhill this weekend?

Anybody racing on Sunday? The course is supposedly nearly all single track, with some speed sections, some tight and twisty sections and some pedaling required. The series is supposed to be geared more for trail bikes than full blown DH rigs.

I am psyched, this will be my first mountain bike race. Any pearls of wisdom for a first-timer? If anybody is going down and wants to meet up, post up.

Breathe. It used to take me almost half of the course to concentrate on breathing right. I gained a lot once I was able to get it more under control. It wasn't that I was overly nervous, just that I didn't think about it. I have the same problem with XC riding, hiking and a few other things too, I feel like I'm going to die right away and then it all gets better once I get some sort of rythm going.

I had to read this a couple times because after the first time, I was trying to figure out if I somehow knew your girlfriend... I read 'your' instead of 'our'.
