FS: New '05-'06 Hippy Stinx and Anti-Piste

    For sale:
1 Pair New in Wrap '05-'06 189cm Hippy Stinx - SOLD
    1 Pair New in Wrap '05-'06 188cm Anti-Piste
    1 Pair New in Wrap '05-'06 181cm Anti-Piste - SOLD

    Prices
    189cm Hippy $350 - SOLD
188cm Anti $275 (see update post near end of thread)
    181cm Anti $300 - SOLD

Buyers pay shipping. Local pickup preferred. First come, first serve ("dibs!").
I reserve the right to maybe hang on to one of the two Anti-Pistes if the other one sells,
even though I really shouldn't cause I don't need them right now.

    Details
I saw these on clearance in the local store two weekends ago, and the prices were too good to pass up. I don't need any of these at all, and I certainly don't need ALL of them. So, I bought them for you! I figured someone here would appreciate the fact that these prices were (at last check anyway) $75-$100 less than what I could find anywhere else online. I really hope I'm not wrong, and that someone out there will be thrilled that I snagged these for them. I'm selling for what I paid, plus just a couple bucks for time, gas, and trouble.

Please claim in thread, NO PMs.

    Consider it done.

PM me a shipping addy or some possible dates to pick up locally, and I'll send back payment instructions (check/cash - I don't do paypal anymore).

One down, one or two more to go.

EDIT: just rechecked my receipt. Anti-Pistes were $300 WITH tax, so I've lowered the price accordingly.

98mm underfoot, shaped a fair bit like a Bro or Sugar Daddy. Tele version of the Apache Chief, or nearly so I think.

Have been given many thumbs up by the tele crew, but the one thing people said was that they are heavier than usual for a tele ski. So, lots of rave reviews about stability, crud busting, float, etc, but this maybe isn't a super choice for AT. Although relative to Gotamas, I'm sure they're fine. Also, they come with the pre-drilled inserts for the semi-standard G3/Cobra/Hardwire hole pattern, which could get in the way of the AT binder (but is really nice for tele-heads, because they can then only own one binding and switch it between skis).

If you're looking for cheaper AT skis from the tele world with the same general dimensions, I'd recommend the Atomic Janak/Teledaddy, which can sometimes be found for around $375 or so.

    EDIT: 131/98/116 for the Anti-Piste. Here's Backcountry.com's review and price ($529 vs. the $300 I found!)

Offline for the next couple days, will check back Thur AM.
Someone claim those 188s! (I think I might like those 181s. But of course, if someone claims the 181s, I'll probably suddenly start liking those 188s. )

I will pounce on the 181s if I can find a buyer for these:

2004 K2 Work Stinx 174cm. Brand new, still in wrapper. I paid $179 for them a few weeks back at EvoGear.
    $150 plus shipping.

Or Yossarian, I’ll give you $150 plus the Work Stinx and pay shipping at both ends for the 181s.

Do these have the inserts? Just the other day I was thinking "Those Apache Chiefs look like a mighty fine ski, if only they weren't so fucking ugly and expensive" This partially takes care of one problem and definately takes care of the other. Would the inserts interfere with a alpine binding or the Naxo? Very tempted

Also, I know the sizing in K2s are a little weird. I have a pair of 188 Kahunas. Would the lack of the twin make the Anti piste shorter/longer/the same?

i know that people have put alpines and naxo/FR's on the teleskis with inserts. you just have to be a bit flexible about hole locations etc.

a quick stop to your local shop and toss a jig on should figure it out easily

They do have inserts, yes. But as Marshall sez, you can check the whole pattern if you need. If you tell me what you're thinking of mounting them with, I can maybe eyeball it too. I have Fritchi's, Looks, Sollys, and R8s here. They are, however, not light. So, alpine = sure; AT = less sure.

As for sizing...I'm less sure there as well. They definitely will run longer due to the flat tail, but how they ski putting that aside, I don't know. For me, my guess as a strong but not expert 5'10" 175lb tele-er is that the 181s would be an all-around ski for me, and the 188s would be best as a more pow-oriented go-fast ski for me.

My current all-around do-everything tele rig is the 183cm Teledaddy, which with it's half-twin, is nearly identical in shape and size to the 181 APs. The APs are supposed to be slightly more damp, slightly better on hardpack, slightly better in crud and old chop/powder, and slightly heavier. If someone takes the 188s, I may keep the 181s as backup for my next rig. If someone takes the 181s, I might mount up the 188s right now and use them for bigger/faster days in conjunction with the Teledaddys. Or if there's interest in both lengths, I might just let them both go, since I'm very happy with the Teledaddys.

Don't know if that helps, but that's my take.

Whoa, sorry, I didn't see this at first.

No, not interested in the Work Stinx, but thanks. Let me know if you sell those though and want the 181s!

As of 12:22 MDT, ashland looks to be claiming Storm's skis, in which case he has dibs on the 181 APs in this thread.

    http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=61376

StormRider, they're yours, pending your agreement/okay/transaction with ashland.
PM me your shipping addy or let me know if not, and I'll get them out to you shortly and PM you back payment details.

    188cm Anti-Pistes are all that's left.
