to be used for touring not ski areas. Must have suspenders at least. Waterproof and breathable. Any deals around?

anyone use these? Patty Micro Bursts.

They look good except no powder cuff.

    Mountain Hardware Ethereal FTX Bib

Pricey, but nice, bro got a pair this year, no complaints. Not sure on weight. They also make a lighter version.

    try here

I have a pair of the sentinel pants. Super cheap, but great material, super light. No pockets, though, they take some getting used to. they kinda fit like a hefty bag, but if you're not too into fashion, no big deal. they have some bibs reminiscent (sp?) of the arc teryx bibs at 1/3 the price.

edit- the pataguccis may be a little too light (i.e. for backpacking rain gear. may get shredded while shredding.

Are you looking for a softshell? Or something with an actual membrain? If you are looking for a softshell, the Patagucci stuff is some of the best out there, maybe even better than Cloudveil. But if not, Marmot makes some pretty killer Gore XCR bibs, but the price is way up there.

Been very happy with Marmot Mountainworks' Randonee bib.
One of the few that is high both front and back to keep the snow outta the skivies during ragdoll rolls.
Not cheap, but they will last.

Check overstock.com, search words ski pants.

They have a 3 layer gore tex pants for 75 bills. I ordered a pair of the maroon ones and really like them. The only problem with them is the colors that are still available, they are slightly, well, UGLY. But there were a couple of normal colors but sizes are limited.

As a brief review of these pants

They are a 1/2 bib, so they come just a bit over the belly button.
3 layer Gore Tex shell construction with waterproof zips and taped seams
    suspenders
    internal gaitor
elastic outer cuff, almost like having a 2nd outer gaitor, nice.
Overall they fit and function nicely. I got a men's small. I am 5'8 and 145 lbs and they fit nicely. I would definitely recommend these and the price is great if you can find a color you can live with.
