    Question Installing Booster straps

i bought a pair of these, and i was wondering if anyone had any experience in installing them.
Putting them on seems fairly straightforward, my problem lies with getting the old velcro strap off.
The boots are Rossi Freerides, and the factory straps are riveted to the rear spoiler of the shell. How would i go about removing set rivet/strap??
Any other tips for these things would be cool too!
    Thanks!!

Drill right through it, should be able to them seperate it. T-nuts or rivets for the new booster works well, heat up a similar sized object and put it through the strap.

Generally rivets are drilled out using a 1/4 to 3/8" bit (bigger is better). Drill slowly since you're just taking off one side of the rivet.
If you have a problem & think that someone else is going to solve it for you then you have two problems.

I think what Snowdog is saying is, if you drill through half of it, it should seperate. I really don't have a clue as to sizes, just regular snowboard t-bolt's work well, but may be a bit of overkill.
I would recommend putting in two rivets/t-bolts so it's more durable.

If you're talking about the rivets then yes, they're not reusable. The rivet has a head (on the outside of the boot) and a tube which goes through the strap and spoiler and is crimped on the inside of the boot. I would drill off the crimp so the rest of the rivet just pulls out. Just don't drill through the plastic spoiler.

another method would be to get a screw or nail really hot and melt the holes in. This prevent any fraying.

hey if you get caught up in mid-surgery or something, this guy Aaron at wachusett is really good. he's helped me out a lot on my boots. He seems to know his shit too and he only works in the boot department so he might be able to offer you some free advice.

I put Boosters on my Rossi Freerides. The 'rivets' on mine were actually threaded. All I did was use a wire cutter to clip off the fluted end of the rivet. The rivets then unscrewed. I melted a hole in the Booster Strap and put it in the place of the original strap and screwed the rivet back in. Over the course of a season the rivet held firm - no problems...

I installed Boosters on my Tecnica Icon's. The original straps have a metal grommet for mounting to the spoiler of the boot. I went to Lowe's and bought a grommet kit for $6 and used that to install a grommet on my new Booster straps. The kit came with a hole cutter/punch so that you don't fuck up the hole. The grommet prevents fraying and adds strength to the mount job...

    Hope this helps.

I slapped some boosters on my Icons too...I just heated a nail and pushed it through...super easy.....1 word of advice however, dont heat the nail you're are actually going to use to attach it, it may melt and fuck up the nail.....

    one more question...
how do i align the strap on the boot?
like, should the wide part that says Booster be directly over the front cuff of the tongue?
