    Krypton sizing/Tree pow ski

Need some advice on dalbello krypton pro sizing...

Just now I am using Salomon x-wave 10 30.5 from 04-05 and I am looking to get a new pair of boots for the upcoming season. I am really interested in the krypton pros but they only run up to a 29.5. From what I have read they seem to run quite big (my shoe size is usually 30 or 30.5) and in my experience salomon run quite tight. so...

    1. any advice on how they fit would be great... and yes I have read the other threads but the biggest size anyone else was wearing was a 28

    2. If anyone knows the sole length of a 29.5 that would be really useful.

I know everyone is going to recommend going to a bootfitter but I don't have that luxury as I live in Japan and the biggest size imported here is a 28 so I have to order them of the internet and then get them properly fitted and moulded here.

The other thing I would like to know is if anyone has actually skied the Ninthward Rory S.F.S. model. I find the whole gangster skier thing of ninthward a bit much but the dimensions of that ski seem perfect for the area I live in, very very deep pow with lots of very very tight tree skiing.

If anyone has tried it out I would love to know your thoughts about it or any other recommendations among the new skis this year. As I say it is really tight tree skiing so wide and somewhere in the 175-185 range is good.

    Thanks

The Krypton was designed to be a half size bigger in length (Plake got tired of smashing his toes against the front of the Flexon). Try on the 29.5, it might be snug but worth the try.

I went from the X-Wave 9s to the Kryptons. I wear a US 12.5 street shoe and I just checked the Salomon shells and they are marked 28/29.5 (335 mm length). I fit into the 29.5 Kryps, which have a sole length of 336 mm. Check the sole length on your X-wave shells. I have a long low volume foot.

According to the sizing they should have been too small, but on Phil's reccomendation I tried them and was suprised they fit. They do give you some extra toe room. I think the conversion has the 29.5 as an 11.5 street size, which is definitely not right for the Kryps.

I liked the way the X-waves skied but they had no feel whatsoever. The Kryps are so much sweeter. If you set them as stiff as possible they will ski similar to the X-waves but feel like you have shock absorbers.

i dont think many of us know that much about Ninthward, you could try newschoolers.com forums, if you can get past the whole newschool gangster talk kind of thing.
If that's the way it is, then that's the way it is.

Yeah I know about newschoolers.com but I trust people's opion on here much more.

The dimensions of the ninthward S.F.S seem almost the same as a ski I was thinking about making myself. So if anyone had tried it, it would be good to know...

Hmm... maybe that explains why my Kryptons feel big to me compared to my Langes in the same size. Maybe I should have sized down on the Kryptons.

I toyed with that idea too. I was in a 26 Flexon (301mm) and I chose the 306 Kryp over the 294. If I wanted a plug fit, i would have gone down but I am happy with my choice.
