    It depends.

I think the best approach would be to have one of us contact the snowcat outfit directly and work out a deal for one day, 3/30/07.

Say that deal costs X. I think what the website says is X will be $200 per person, provided there's 10 in a group.

If X+99 is more than the "package deal" specified, then go for the package deal.

The only "package" I know about is organized by Heli-trax out of T-ride. It costs $1895 per person, double occupancy for 4 days, T-ride, helitrax, SM, SanJuanSnowcats. http://www.helitrax.net/packages_sanjuans.html .

    Is there some other deal?

Yeah, Bob from SJ Snow Cats had a deal for $220 (I think) for a day of cat skiing and a day @ Silverton. Now that Silverton is somewhat "popular" they might have ditched the deal. I'll give them a call and post up what I find out.

Give me some time on the snowcat thing. I put a word out to a friend who knows one of the cat guides. Asked him to give him a call one of these days & find out something if he can.
I'll pester him again in a week or so if I don't her back.

and buster, he's good for the S-ton day too - so make it me +1.

edit; Go ahead & call P4B. I think Bob is my friends bud over there. & if that was both hills, $220 is a screaming deal! I'd give those guides a worthy tip for sure.

Jeez, $220 for both? Go for it.
It's a great idea to investigate other options, but all I'm trying to do is identify the day we'd want to ski Silverton. Let's keep that in the sights.

Looks like your thursday plan is hands down fav. Just need the commited numbers. I'll gladly forgo the icy AM' & slushy PM's Roaring fork valley half in favor of the untouched SJ's.

What day are we thinking FrankZappa? I want to get in on this shit.

Do we need to commit now though? Two groups possibly?

Looks like the schedule you just posted on the other thread fits right in if I'm not mistaken.

I'm shooting to vote on one day @ Silverton.
    The price will be $99.
You don't have to pay now, but you will have to pay before 11/1.

    Bump and more clarification:
    0) Whatever day it is, it will cost $99.
    1) You don't have to pay now, but consider voting a commitment.
    2) You will be responsible for paying yourself via the Silverton Mountain reservation system: http://www.silvertonmountain.com/reservations/step1.php .
    3) There will be a password to submit when you make your reservation. PM me for the password.

I did vote in the poll, but I still want to hear word on the possible $220 deal for Silverton on Thursday and SJSC on Friday, so I am not committed yete - FYI.

It appears that the SJSC combo deal for $220 won't happen.

But there may be a deal available through El Diablo Snow Cat Skiing: 970-385-7288. Ask for Krueger and let him know that there might be a big group coming in with good refs from Silverton Mountain.

Caveat: I've never done either of these cat ops and all I really want is to get focused on the SM option.

I'll probably delete this poll after it expires and request a sticky with the pertinent info.

Ok, so the maggot summit is the 24-1, which I won't be able to make.

Would any coloraggots or out of towners getting here early have any interest hitting up silverton on like the 20th?
