Dynastar Legend Pros - 186cm - Look Bindings

Up for sale is a pair of 186cm Legend Pros. I purchased these used last season intending to use them on two trips, neither of which worked out due to schedule constraints. I had a brand new pair of Look PX12 Lifter/Wide bindings mounted for Lange 120FR's with a 343mm sole.

The condition of these skis is very good. They have the usual couple of little topsheet/sidewall nicks, but are beautiful overall. The skis HAVE been ground once by the shop that they were purchased from. To ensure that I didn't waste the incredibly perfect cross-hatch pattern on the base of the skis, I did the full race prep with all proper tools. The skis were given 10 hot scrapes using swix base prep, proper brushing, and finally finished with a few coats of swix wax. The texture on the bases on these of skis is fantastic. The only snow time they've seen since prep was three wussy east coast runs to check my waxing and make sure that the unchanged edges felt fine.

I really hate to get rid of these skis after putting so much time/money into them, but after buying a new motorcycle this summer, I'm not going to be able to afford any trips that would warrant the use of such badass skis. They are currently located in Pittsburgh, PA. Asking $600.00 + Shipping.

I must say you have strange tastes in interior decoration.

I REALLY wish I could save them. Unfortunately I have some nice payments to make on my new bike, as well as a bad track-day habit that eats up what little disposable income I have to begin with. I have some first-year scratch BC's that are still going strong, and they do perfectly well for whatever conditions I may find on the east coast. It would be a shame to see such crazy skis go to waste sitting in my basement.

I absolutely love the Legend series. I tried out some 8800's last year at Whistler and they totally changed my perception on what a good ski feels like. The limited experience I had on the pro's gave me just the same feeling. They are some truly amazing skis. I'll be applying to grad schools out west soon. If I make that move, I will certainly get another set.

They were absolutely astounding. I picked them up for a day after having some boot work done at fanatyk co. The first thing I did was take them up to the top of whistler, down whistler bowl, doom&gloom, and grand finale. That is one of my favorite runs to link up.

Overall, I spent absolutely no time re-learning the skis. I've been on the same pair of Scratch BC's since I bought them in whistler 4 years ago. The skis were incredibly predictable, and did everything I wanted them to, when I wanted them to, only much better than my BC's would. They had great flotation and a much more forgiving flex than the pros. Unless you are an aspiring superhero, I'd say get the 8800s, cause the pros are stiff!!!!!

Needless to say, the pros also rip like crazy. All I did was a few groomer runs at mach 2. No complaints.

Price update: Full package is still $600+shipping. Asking $450+ shipping for skis alone.

I popped off the bindings to take a look at the holes. The old holes are for Look P-style bindings, and they are roughly 3/4 to 1 inch shorter (at the toe piece) than my current PX style holes. One thing I was incorrect about was the mounting patterns. The patterns for the toe pieces did not change, while the heel pieces did.

What this sums up to, is that the pre-existing holes would work for either types of Look binding, since the toe pattern did not change. Since the toe pieces are identical, this drastically broadens the range of boots that could be used with the bindings... without drilling new holes.

If anyone would like, I can take more photos of the holes and post them up.

Did you remount the bindings with wood glue and torque them correctly, or will somebody need to take them to a shop now and spend more $$$?

I only removed the bindings from one ski. All of the interest in the skis thusfar has been skis-only, so I just left them off. If anyone wants the bindings as well, I am more than capable of proper reinstallation, as I used to be a tech in a ski shop.
