Some people see skiing as a sport, to me its a way of life.

I just shipped a pair of Spatulas I sold here from WA to Calgary: $21 via US Postal. USPS is the only way to go to Canada, but only go to the post office to ship, NOT Postnet or Mailboxes, etc. One of them quoted me $42 for the same shipment that I paid $21 for at the post office. The only drawback is a limit on length + width + height, but a pair of 189 spats made it under the limit. Also, refer to it as a "gift," as that eases both the price and the taxes the poor Canadian has to pay on the other end.

Ya, go USPS for sure - should be $20-40, depending on weight and how far its going, as long as its l+w+h is under their magic number (forget what it is).

also air packages get less duty and tax action then the surface ones (I dont know why, but usually works that way)

Yes, must be denoted as a "gift".

US air mail is the only way to go. Might be a tad more, but the time vs cost is totally worth it.

I believe air mail goes faster, so there is less time to process duties.

I believe USPS has a length limit for intl shipments that maxes out at about a 180 skis. UPS ground would run you about $40 without bindings, but they ratchet it up pricewise with dimensional price additives. Yank the binders, ship them USPS for $7 or so, then ship the skis UPS ground.

edit: Really depends what part of Canadia they're going to.

USPS is by far the best way to go. I've gotten a pair of 190cm Igneous to Finland thru them. for about $45.

There is a limit on the length + circumference of the box. So as long as the box is thin, it should not be a problem.

I've shipped 189 Seth Vicious, spats w/ s914s, and several other smaller skis to Canada thru USPS and it usually runs about $30.
Seriously, this can’t turn into yet another ON3P thread....

    Actually, Splat, it's CDN.

If you are shipping to the Vancouver, BC area I might be able to help with a Washington (WA) address near Baker where the lucky Canuck could drive down to pick up said goods and carry them personally back across the border. PM me for more info.
