2 drops. And can anyone explain to me how we are so much better than 2004? At least I was paying under $3 a gallon for gas.

Also from 1994: Search "French Military Victories" and then click the feeling lucky button.

The Google people must have a way of manually associating certain sites with any given keyword, that somehow overrides their crawler db index/search algorithm.

That can't be just an appropriate coincidence... another reason I love Google.

Nah, it's all about links and anchor texts - geeks abusing the algorythms.

Do you realize that you've just posted an admission of ignorance so breathtaking that it disqualifies you from commenting on any political or economic threads from here on out?

    Technically, you're both right...

Mulletizer is just more right in this case
edited to add: 'abusing' isn't quite the right word...

Search engines do what we like to call "hand-jobs" all the time... but link bombing is a much more fun for us geeks on this side of the machine.

Google does have the ability to hand edit or manipulate results over the algorithm, and has been known to in the past. The famed "scientology" case is probably the biggest example.

Yahoo once poked fun at google by hand editing the results.

Ask.com hand edited results so that barry could propose to his girlfriend when she typed in her name.

This is a good explanation Google Bomb
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.
