    WTB: old avalanche books

Looking for a few things to fill up my bookshelf:

    Avalanche Hunters
Snowy Torrents (1972-1979 and any older volumes)
    The Avalanche Enigma

not willing to pay the $278.50 that Amazon wants for a 1972-79 Snowy Torrents....................

    I'll sell mine for $250!

I'm actually planning on selling all of them (I've all 4) in a month or so when I finish scanning them.

www.bookfinder.com is better than amazon if thats too long a wait (and shows a couple in the ~$50 range)

looks like I can sell my 1972 Chouinard catalog for $350+ - wanna trade?

Thanks Hacksaw - I think I've found what I'm looking for. Avalanche Hunters and Avalanche Enigma for $25 each at Chessler Books.

I think you can still buy the video "Avalanche Rescue Beacons: a race against time," from Chessler.

I'm the buried victim in that one. The director thought my name Halsted, would be too distracting. So, I got "renamed," in the video as "Steve."

The video is a little out of date. But, there is still a lot of very good information and background on how to use avalanche rescue transceivers. We're thinking of doing a new up dated version of this video. Would anyone be interested in buying a new updated version?

    Cheers,
    Halsted Morris

yeah, there'd be interest, but wouldn't you have to use one of those expensive, new-fangled digital video camera thingies and a confuser and all that techie stuff that you can't afford and don't like? Why don't you just write a book?

    Maybe I should.....

Meanwhile I have to learn how to use this new computer thingy, that I bought the other day..... It should make designing the next fieldbook a lot easier......

A true Luddite. Appropriate use of technology. Not simply the rejection of technology.

Read the first few chapters of Avalanche Hunters last night. Atwater was quite a character.
