Request for more doggie stoke (actually SR)

I need some help from you guys and maybe at the same time we can get some more good pics of our pups up here. My gf wants "us" to get a dog and I am all up for it. I think she is swaying towards some small boot-licking yappity breed resembling a capibara. To the contrary, I informed her that we need an athletic capable larger dog that can accompany us (me) on the hill during those off piste trips without using a snorkel. She is close, but I know with some pics of our dogs bounding through the snow, following our tracks, etc, she will crumble. I perused the doggie stoke thread and found maybe one or two, and I recall a few in the past but couldn't locate them (maybe they were from a Trackhead TR).

The ancillary benefit here is that I will forward them off to my mother who loves skiing even more than me, loves our golden to death, and is having to deal with most likely missing the upcoming season due to her recent and unfortunate diagnosis. It's a win win for everyone.

Check some of the trip reports. Quite a few with tag-along dogs that are pretty cool. Also, check for Bodhi's threads. His dog Dude is an awesomely photogenic golden who is on some of his b/c stuff.

Dude was sweet. That is the one photo I have already appropriated. Then again, so is that badass bull dog.

    Don't forget about the baggage

Dogs are great, especially when following you in snow, but check out my recent post in the padded room on some of the...ummm...side effects of having a dog.

For BC purposes, bulldogs are equivalent to the ankle bitters. It takes a significant amount of encouragement to get mine down the stairs.

    I'm partial to the labbies.

Here's a couple of my Bella enjoying a recent BC adventure. She's a total powderwhore.

You can't go wrong with a Chessie, a golden, or a lab. We've got two labs.

A mutt from the animal shelter (chessie/lab or viszla/lab mix, not sure which)... don't get a dog from a breeder when there are already too many dogs that need homes.

Dogs from good breeders don't usuallly end up in shelters. It's unwanted pups from dogs that aren't neutered/speyed that are the bulk of the problem.

People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

My dog was fixed 2 days after I adopted him. I'm saying that adopting a dog is a good alternative...by adopting you're saving one more dog from being euthanized. It's nothing against people who buy purebreds, it's just my way of doing a good deed and finding a good friend at the same time. End rant, and one more stoke:
