A FINAL NOTE ON THE PLAKESPEAR AUCTION--PLEASE READ

The Plakespear auction ends today at 6 PM eastern time, as we've said in the auction instructions. Since steve's forum, where the auction is taking place, is set to central time, the auction will be ending at 5 pm on the auction thread which of course is 6 pm EST. When deciding the winners, we will be going by the time noted in steve's forum. Whoever gets the high bid at 5:00 pm forum time will be the winner. If you get your bid in at 5:01, no dice.

I want to thank all of you for making this auction what looks to be a smashing success! I want to ask one more thing of all the winning bidders:
Finish up strong! If you won an item, please pay promptly the final bid+the shipping amount listed as per the instructions in the thread so I can start the process of getting the item to you, reimbursing the donators for shipping, and getting the money to plake. I will be going to NYC on 9/16 thru 9/19; it would be stellar if I could hand a big fat check to plakespear in person during my trip. Prompt payment will make that possible.

One more note: I will be out of the country the first week of September, so my ability to take care of business will be a bit limited that week. But I will work hard the rest of august and after 9/9 to make sure everything gets taken care of.

A big thanks to justcuz, steve, pulver, the donators, and the maggots/bidders for making this happen. This has succeeded beyond what we believed was possible. You guys all rawk!!

Now get after it: only about 3 hours left!!

The forum was actually set to "GMT-5", which apparently really means UTC-5. I've set it to GMT-4.

The irony is that if the auction really did end at 6pm EST, it would end at 5pm EDT. I think. And we're in EDT, not EST.
Either way, I'm going to lock the thing at 6pm where I live.

Guys, get those bids in. Ebay is for snipers. This is for charity.

I'll lock the forum a minute or two after 6pm.
