So who is ready for winter?

Now that the nights are getting cold, I find ALL my thoughts turning to winter and skiing. I bought a new pair of skis yesterday(176 Gotamas) and spent the majority of last night staring at them. Who else is over summer and ready for ski season again?

Will it at least snow this winter? If it doesn't, then I'm not going.

need to replace poles, socks, and underwear

still have to thin the quiver a bit cause its getting a little bloated

other then that I've got about 60 days until ski season should be starting
For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was

I am also ready to ski...

This year my 4 year old and 7 year olds will be joining me on the slopes here in Michigan. They want to learn as soon as possible how to jump and slide on rails... This will be a very fun and memorable season coming up...

Short answer: YES I am more than ready for winter (except the waistline)

Long answer: If I get around to it I’ll post it in Xover’s “The Turn” thread. No disrespect Mule, his was first.

Not ready. I feel like i'm finally in peak mountain biking shape and it KILLS me to see the nights getting shorter. I know I'll feel differently when the mountain opens and the snow is here, but I hate seeing summer end.

ready in spirit, but my gear & supplies are not.

-need to cut a couple cords of wood & running out of weekends to do them
-snow tires...gotta buy some for the 'buru
-quiver...non-existant...but I have a decent amount of $$$ saved up for just such a purpose
-helmet...think I might finally get one
-physically in the best shape of my life from all the hiking & mtb, and running (high altitude living, baby), but still probly need to do some wall-sits to get those quads in gear for season.
-poles, new goggles? hopefully to be acquired in the auctions for Plakes'

so I've still got to acquire some goods for the season. tick tock tick tock

another vote for late summer/fall. Still got some backpacking, mtn biking, and water trips in the old quiver.

but if someone will sell me a pair of mantras, hey, I'm down.

Not ready but will be. I still have skis to buy, a car to get under and fix, and a destination (Whistler) to get to. I'm stoked for sure!

    POLES! I need new poles!

I was kind of depressed...I thought I didn't need or want anything that I could afford.... But poles....I can do poles. I'm gettin' me some frickin awesome poles before the season starts.

I've been fully planning on getting into awesome skiing shape and dropping about 15 pounds of muscle/fat before the ski season starts....or at least moving my body mass south, where it's useful..... Haven't really achieved any of that yet.

    Gotta get crackin'...

I haven't put it back in the closet yet. it's still sitting out in the living room.. a daily reminder that winter is coming.

Last week I sold a pair of skis... and ordered BROs. Yesterday I had an inventory check to see what stuff will last another season. Today I bought new boot liners, and some bindingstuff.

    Soooo Bring it on!!!!!

Does this mean you'll be changing the avitar soon? [fingers crossed]
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.
