Wow, never heard of it.....but saw the two of them going nuts on the Palisades in April. Including Schmidiots and at least Tanner doing 80 foot fronts off right side of Schmidiots (becks). I was impressed.

Whoever mixed the audio on that trailer deserves a smack. What a cacophony. I liked the music and I can imagine the story being interesting.

According to the trailer, the release date is in September. But, if you go to studio411's website, the video is already sold out.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't see any touring dates for the movie either....

Watched this yesterday - not a bad little movie. Interesting in a number of ways.

    - You got to see Tanner skiing bc at Retallack with Seth Morrison. He's actually a lot better than many give him credit for. Does really well for a dead guy.

    - I would have liked a little more detail on CR's rehab, possibly in the bonus features section. Still, it was inspiring to see some aspects of his recovery.

    - They don't really let Tanner do any pieces to camera in the movie which helps his cause no end.

    - It's great to see a ski movie that tells a story rather than just being a stream of segments. The end credits give props to Greg Stump and this movie is, in certain respects, a movie Stumpy might have made. Albeit with more dayglo.

    - There's also some really good stuff featuring Kye Petersen and Sean Pettit. These kids go off.

    - Some good helmet cam stuff in the extras and a fun (albeit slightly cheesy) short story that's worth a watch.

Everything Bad Roo said. Some really good music in there too. Even though Shane Anderson narrated and used every cliche known to man it was one of the better flicks I have seen in the last few years.

-Some very cool pow skiing in BC
    -Excellent editing
    - Not too pornish
    -Almost no park

Agree with the maggot sentiment about the movie. It's good (but not great). The real story is CR and there's an obvious disconnect, but it's also a couple of 23ish year-old dudes who are just about the finest and most creative skiers in the universe. And they're coming of age. I might not agree with everything about Tanner, but I honestly do respect his passion (and his professorship in Stompology). And CR's different. He's the poet-philosopher of freeskiing, always been that way. In lots of way, the two make quite interesting foils (and that begs the question.... why isn't CR on Armada?). Looking forward to the next installment, which, CR reports, will detail more of his recovery.

    Carry on lads!

Pretty good, saw it last week. For the Tahoe folks there will be a showing coming up at Northstar, with CR and Tanner there signing your stuff and giving out some schwag. Will post dates when finalized.

CR's recovery is nothing short of miraculous. That's a story in and of itself.

Hey Woodsy ... Tanner and CR just premiered their flick in Aspen today. Here's my couple pennies:
It was a disappointment. The potential was there. It could have been amazing. While Tanner is, in my opinion, one of the more influential riders in the ski world, he is not a good storyteller. Pop Yer Bottlez, CR and Tanner's first movie from their production company The Bigger Picture, was really good. But with CR obviously playing less of a role in Show & Prove, the movie floundered. The narration was horrible, with poor grammar and the worst cliches (eg: Tanner's at the X games and his competitors "started falling away like flies" and the "scent of gold was in the air" ((wtf? scent of gold???)) and when blue skies dawn, Seth Morrison "lays down the gauntlet.") Seth's role, as usually, will make you piss your pants. He absolutely kills. But he's only in a couple seggies. There are several dozen shots of Tanner jumping, sliding and all that. Stance wide and in the back seat, all steezed gorilla style. Minimal role of Anthony B, one of the best big mtn jibbers out there. Weird video sequences of Tanner at home. Way too little of CR and his recovery. Awesome tunes though. Really good music selection.
All said, there was great potential here to create a ski movie that had a legit storyline. The first of its kind, really. Sadly, it didn't deliver.

What I don't get is why Tanner Hall has such a big part in this. He broke his ankles the season before and is now fully recovered. While CR is fighting for his life, why do we want to watch Tanner Hall skiing for the entire movie followed by about a minute of footage of CR after his recovery?

This movie could be re-titled "Suck and Blow."

I just got back from the ski store. I wanted Corduroy, War, Teddy-Bear Crisis, Ah-Mig-Da-La (sp?), or Anomaly. All sold out. There is a reason for this. While picking through the scraps, I saw Show and Prove. "Why not," I thought. It sucks. Now I don't know what it is that sucks though. The skiing is as good as you'd expect from those involved (very good), this certainly isn't a dig on their skills. The music is at worst "Ok." But I didn't like it.

I thought I knew what I liked in ski movies, and I thought is was good music and killer skiing. The skiing was great, the music Ok, but I still don't like it. It goes to show that Poor-Boys, MSP, TGR, and Rage have their hands on the pulse of something... some "Ju no se qua" that proves it takes a special talent to put these films together.

Fortunately for me, the copy I picked up happens to have Seth's sig on it, so I can gift it to a friend coming to town this friday and say I opened it to get the autograph. Phew, good cover.

    okbye

For me, this is the movie of the year. I thought all the usual movies (pbp, msp, tgr) released the same movies as last year (and the year before....), not bad but not original. Show and Prove was different. It told a story a la stumpy, had good music (or lack of), sick skiing, and the editing was great. Plus Seth Morrison absolutely kills it in the last segement. It may have a couple weak points (x games footage), but overall this is the only movie that holds my attention from start to finish.
