    Question Web Cameras (Techtalk bitch)

So I want to deploy a bunch of cameras on our resort and I want to get some advice. We have one earthcam which is bomb proof but expensive. I want a bunch more views so the budget would be $800 a camera or less. Walmart (the favorite place to shop for Maggots) has all weather cameras and this nifty router:

Anyone have experience with these Panasonic cameras? Any other brand advice? I'm going to see abot streaming one live feed as well.

Don't you know boy, Walmart is THE DEVIL!!!

Yeah, nothing to add. I just don't want to start working today
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

    Hey Bacon,

Earthcams are Pelco I believe... at least the PTZ model I looked at was. Pelco "Esprits" to be exact and they run around $3000 or more and they aren't "Network" cams so you need a seperate device/software to publish the images.

Are you looking for fixed cams or PTZ? We got a Axis 211 fixed cam last year that we had some problems with but their tech support and warranty was very good and everything has worked out fine now. I would definately consider buying this brand again. http://www.axis.com/products/video/camera/index.htm

The BIG problem with fixed cams is you need to set their foucs ON the camera with a little slider. This is OK if you are shooting a wide shot but a PITA if you have a tele lens. Check http://www.snowbird.com/snowcam to see our usage.

Whatever you buy I think you will need an external housing and a heater to keep condensation/fogging/frost at bay.

I'm assuming you are planning to put it up at a mt. resort. If that's the case, you get what you pay for man. That thing is going to go through hell and back.

    Cool

Peek'n Peak which is outside of Erie in the Lake Effect region. We get 255" of natural and we just put 2 million into our snowmaking. I'm going to max out their park program this coming season. I've ordered a Zaugg, we're building rails and adding 1000w lights. FUN!
Oh snapp! With all this hype, I need to get back to web authoring. I'll have a new website launching at the end of this month.
