So what is the answer to "Why are JJs in the Backcountry category", say 185s. The camber underfoot puts this question kinda of on the outside of the thread title but want to hear more opinions and I know that you all have them. I am on TGR right? FIRE!!

Anyone else share to care their experiences skinning on reverse camber skis? Surely not an issue if you're breaking trail. But how about slicker skin tracks that have already been set?

I'm thinking of picking up some Hojis this winter and I'd likely mount some dukes I have laying around, although skinning with a fully rockered ski like the Hoji (even if the rocker profile is subtle) seems like it might be very difficult given the small underfoot contact point.

Also, any thoughts/experiences with the fact that dukes move backwards on the track to tour? Does this reduce that contact point even further, making it even more difficult?
I tour on EP Pros on big powder days. No issue. If you are on a fat reverse camber ski, you are probably skiing in freshies. No issue breaking trail. If you are following a set slick skin track in the conditions you are skiing a reverse camber ski in then you are doing it wrong. There are no traction issues in fresh snow becuase of the rocker. As for Dukes, them moving back in the track helps me for the occasional kick turn since it gives you less tail to clear...and again the contact point thing is a non issue.

You do not want reverse camber for side hilling in firm snow...and if you are you chose the wrong ski for the day. Touring on full rocker ski is for pow days...very quiver specific.
