Yep, it's a CSL. I am also very jealous of your daily driver as a result.

Yeah, that's nice and all, but someone put the steering wheel on the wrong side.

Sick and ashamed and happy (and my bored mind makes bad jokes),

forgive the jong-ness, but what is the difference between the M3 and a CSL.

Ahhh...I see. 30 hp, 110kg's less weight, and purdy'd up a bit. Schweet.

Oh ya, I almost forgot - I hate you roo. Lucky bastard.

VRRRRROOOMMM, heh. I assume these already have mod kits coming out shortly like the older M3's I think you could easily tweak the 155 top speed, no?

Hey look, one with the wheel placed correctly.

The E46 M3 engine and the CSL engine really can not be modded for much more power...Kablamo! The CSL is really a race car...not much you could do to it to make it any better.

Pretty cool all the composites used to drop weigt, the engine compartment alone has more Carbon Fiber than most cars throughout. Great lines inside and out, clean.

Actually Active Autowerkes and another company both have superchargers in development for the S54 engine. The problems lie in the electronics. If you guys like BMW's come check out http://www.bimmerforums.com It is my other home on the web and has alot of great info and a great off topic section. Oh, by the way bad_roo, I am increadibly envious of you!

I heard the carbon fiber really lightens up the new LS10.5K, and gives it better torsion control. The only problem is that it doesn't come in BMW's colors for the car.

So where does one get one of these gems? The M3's are very difficult to come by as it is, let alone a CSL. I do see how it would be nice to have the M guys doing the mods rather than an aftermarket company.

    Beautiful Car!

The other company, not AA, has dyno sheets up. I'll see if I can find em for you in a bit. Need to grab lunch now. I think its something like 97hp gain at the wheels with 5.5psi. Its a Rotrex blower.

CSL's don't come to these parts. You can buy look alike parts though.

I've seen the dyno's, it's real world long term I'm interested in. I had a PES Eaton blower kit on my Audi. I'd never mod a car again.

that's a sweet-looking ride roo. my dad decided on the 645 and has laid down some deposit money in hopes of landing one next year.
i'm a car jong... how does the CSL compare to the 645? i'm guessing the 645 is built more for the comfort crowd and the CSL more for the sport crowd? have you been behind the wheel of a 645 yet?

I guess they driven it all over, and done a few track days and around a 100 pulls and no problems yet... What flavor of Audi did you have?

    Truth,

I may be late to the party, but do you do a lot of the Skip Barber's in the Mid west??

My buddies that still live there are Audi freaks.

I've done several driving schools, Skip Barber among them and was very active in the Chicago chapter of the Quattro Club for a few years. Recently I've been doing private track events that some freinds of mine put on which offer far more time on the track and far less BS to deal with. I probably know some of your friends from events over the past few years. Small world eh?

Nope ran out of warranty / patience dealing with Audi so I returned her to stock and traded her for the E46 M3 in the pic above.

Dunno, the CSL still aint got nothing on the EVOs of yore...

I drove a friends E36 M3 and the new one, and didnt really like either. Sure, the E46 was fast but the engine sounded like it was spitting out bolts. Definately didnt have the same growl as the older straight sixes. And damn the thing felt heavy. But it was a pretty pimpin ride.

I've been rockin 2002s and E30s for some time, unfortunately my 325s engine met its match
http://www.biglines.com/photos/blpic17784.jpg . Track sessions, lapping days, two autocross seasons, a few rallycrosses thrown in for good measure, and general abuse.

But now the girl is anxiously awaiting an OBDI converted S52. Hmmm, close to 300 crank hp in a 2500 lb (now that everything that wasnt necessary was removed) car? Oh yes. Watch out E46 M3...

Theo, did you used to be on DTMpower? I was on there for ages, but the 20 inch wheel crowd kinda took over, and now the place blows.
