    Pisco Powered Chile Dogs

    Well...
I had the pleasure of devirginizing my silly ass of South America this year, and it was freaking cool. After landing in Santiago and making the road up to Valle Nevado, this was the view out my hotel window

    Some terrain, eh?

A nice sunrise over the Andes

Looking down towards Santiago and the whinging road

The first two days were kinda meh, but we got a little overnight and day 3 (monday) was bluebird pow. In the spirit of Bob Weir, "Haaaaaa!"

Go chair go -- I'm dying!

I really like this photo; makes me want to schralp

    There was some of this

    And some of this

    And it continued

But hey, the Chile Dogs need some lovin'. This is Tima and her faithful patrollemn

I saw some dudes checking out the snowpack for shears

But I think they were looking the wrong way

It was pretty calm for most of the morning but it started whipping it up later int he afternoon

    Some Valle Nevado parting shots

Cheers to the mags and all like minded folk

And then we headed down south through the cold rain and wind to chillan. Someone saw an alien with antennae that was inhaling bacon flavored fart wax, but all I could make out was this

The next morning near Termas De Chillan, this was the wakeup call

My bad, I got my zeros mixed up, it was supposed to be this

We had a fruckin increibel pow day this day, and unfortunately I don't have the photos to do it justice, so I'm just going to let the chile dogs and the pics do the talking from here on out.

And this guy was the bomb sniffing dog at the Santiago airport. I really wanted to smuggle him in my carry on, but he busted me for my toothpaste and sunscreen.

    Cool pics...

How is the coverage in Chillian? Their website shows the top of the mountain closed for the last month it seems... Would be nice to have some beta from someone who was actually there.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Thank you for the pics. I'm in Antillanca heading to cerro Bayo. Twas a sick storm we hit in Chillan.

Mark my 5-years-of-chillan-ripping-time-words: it was epic snow.

I'm glad we shared the powand huck fest !

    Hasta la nieve weon !

Unfortunately it was too stormy for us to get up higher than the first couple of lifts--bummer as I really wanted to hike up and ski from the summit. I can only guess from the coverage at the bottom that the top would be totally sick. Next time...

What? No pics of that painfully long, directional changing poma at Valle?

I don't think any ski area has quite as scary,,,er...dangerous access road. I made sure to down a couple piscos before heading back in the van.

    That powder sure looks nice...
