he's good, considering. i just got back from there. Finished treatment four, i think, and still in pretty good shape (really good, actually). He's getting a private room as we speak, and looking for some maggot company--i guess no one stopped by yesterday after TL's early visit.
So he's fine now, but a long road ahead over the next few days.

no less than 6 of us were there tonight..
me, tacomaluv, sprite, spanky, gravitylover, and mtn man..

he received his sixth dose while we were there!
It looks like he'll be luck to make it to eight doses this time.. apparently the drugs were hitting his kidneys pretty hard.
I understand that the second round of chemo never gets as many doses as the first..

Frankly you are lucky to hit the 60% mark on your second dosage. 8 is seriously fucking rocking it. But I'm sure they will give him the "we know your tough but your kidneys cannot handle another dosage" speech sometime tonight or tomorrow morning if they have already mentioned his kidneys around dosage 5.

And maggots thank you so very much for visiting him.

<edit>there isn't an emoticon around that could show how much I appreciate you guys keeping his spirits up. It's so important!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve and I walked in and Nils was walking around w/ his portable drip machine thing-y and when he spotted us the smile on his face was just the best thing I've seen in a long time!

He looked very good, and while this treatment is very difficult he seems to be taking it with a very strong and positive attitude. We enjoyed visiting with him as much as he enjoyed having us there, I'm sure! And we got to meet his parents who are absolutely wonderful.

Nils doesn't have internet access until this weekend, but he asked us to give an update...and he misses not being able to post & check in.

We hung up a few Jack Handy print-outs for him, I'm sure nurses & visitors will be like "WTF?"

I was asked why I did not wear my french maid costume. But when I explained that my boss "made me take it off at work," I think that it sort of came out wrong...

I wore my maid outfit, but Plakes didn't seem to be very happy about it. I guess he didn't like my fluffy duster either.....

He seemed to be a little better off than the Thursday that I visited last time, but he was up to 10 by then. Although he was in good spirits and sitting in the lounge with the gaggle of maggots, he's realizing that he won't make it past 7-8 this time around. As TJ Burke says, the second time around is a lot harder, so we're cheering for him to make it to 7 this time!

Prolly left around 830-9 when he started to get tired. Security was prolly pissed when we handed in 6 passes at the desk....he's only supposed to have 2 guests at a time

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Keep the posi vibes going!

    mid-day Thurs report.

ran up to see our boy on my lunch
He is in good spirits, doing well.
He was STOKED to get the supersweet PNW care package.
Thanks to that tight crew, especially GG and Sq99 for getting that together.

    well, he is done.
not sure what number he got to, but he is thru with this round.
Doc came in whle I was there and said he wont be getting anymore treatments.
he is leaving tomorrow. will be scanned in a few weeks either here or most likely in Philly to see how it went.
we talked about his chances and both agreed he had a good shot.
keep prayin y'all but know N is strong.

Hey, everyone. Yup. Going home today. Survived six doses, which was about what was expected (usually the 2nd round you tolerate 60% of the first round)

That was a sweet gift from ther PNW. I gotta go frame shopping now. Hey, there's an IKEA on the way home...
