    Firewire for DV Camcorders

    Just bought a new DV Camcorder. Does anybody have any suggestions on Firewire Cards preferably with a 4 pin cable?

    don't really matter, and you can get 4 pin to 6 pin cables. I put a belkin one in my friends comp a few days ago in about 20 mins.

    Ditto - belkin makes good stuff. I have a Western Digital FW card that is good as well.

    I got a pci card but them my computer died and I bought a laptop. So for a small price you can have mine. its a adaptec and came w/ some good software

    yea, a 4-6 pin cable is actually really easy to find, or you can use an adapter

    plus, it's better to have a 6-pin card in case a future, say, external hard drive to store all your DV footage can be powered by the firewire bus...

    Not sure about the card, but don't go to Comp USA and get ripped off on the cable. They were $30 bucks there. I went to Target and found one for $10.
