    Anybody done this trip? (Chugach)

Thinking about giving this trip a whirl next April. Has anybody done it or something like it? Not sure about using a guide service - seems like it would make things simple from a logistics standpoint. Just looking for some feedback or a better idea. Thanks!

I have been in there a few times.Unless that $2800 includes airfare to AK. seems like way too much. Haven't flown in there but cost should not be more than $500 round trip. It is an easy ski in. If you don't have any experience on glaciers maybe this would be a consideration. Wonder if they plan on using the mountainering club hut? Do not know rules on using for profit. Also I do not like the numbers 4 and 1. 3 is probably best for glacial travel. hard to split up and do different objectives with this group ratio. Here is alink to a trip on a glacier east of where your trip is going.

post on telemarktips a guy over there just did the same trip as your talking about, had some nice pictures. I'm sure he will chime in. If you are at all comfortable on a glacier the trip you are looking at is an easy one to put together for definitely under $1000 once you are in AK. Probably can be done for half that.
If you are not comfortable on the glaciers and looking forward to the education part I would check out something like

another option if you want to hang out from a base camp and ski you can check out NATO dickie Hall telemark trip to the Ruth. Beautiful scenery, good chance of better snow, and a larger group so more people to party with. I don't think they get after it but they do seem to have a good time and make turns in pretty scenery.
a better idea would be get a couple of friends fly in practice some crevasse stuff than get after it. You will have plenty of money left for heli time or bacon, blow and hookers.

Seems really expensive to me. That averages out to $280 a day that food better be damn good.
