    My new favorite song

"Connecticut’s for Fucking" by Jesus H. Christ and the Four Horsemen of the Apocolypse.

Thus far I've only heard it on Sirius' Alt Nation. It's pretty funny, especially if you're from New England.

We live in the dullest state
Package stores all close at eight
    Malls are full of optometrists
    And restaurants we hate
    Swimming across Lake Quassapaug
    Stealing makeup, catching frogs
Cutting our feet on broken bottles
As we wade in the Shepaug
It’s true for horses, cows and dogs?

    Connecticut’s for fucking
That’s all there is to do.
I love to listen to classic rock
    and have sex with you

    Kinda reminds me of this

    THE WEAKERTHANS

    "One Great City!"

late afternoon another day is nearly done

a darker grey is breaking through a lighter one
a thousand sharpened elbows in the underground
that hollow hurried sound of feet on polished floor
and in the dollar store the clerk is closing up
and counting loonies trying not to say
    i hate winnipeg

the driver checks the mirror seven minutes late
    crowded riders' restlessness enunciates
the guess who suck, the jets were lousy anyway
    the same mood every day
    and in the turning lane
    someone's stalled again
    he's talking to himself
and hears the price of gas repeat his phrase
    i hate winnipeg

    up above us all,
    leaning into sky
    our golden business boy
will watch the north end die
and sing 'i love this town'
then let his arching wrecking ball proclaim:
    "i...hate...winnipeg"

    Ha- yes.

I just got back from my sister's wedding in CT. I mentioned the song to a couple of people, and they looked as if I were crazy. Guess it is only on Sirius. Describes my childhood to a "T". Not sure how my sis still lives there. The week I just spent there was amazing though. If the weather was always like that, I would move back in a second.
