    Tippster -quick video question

    Tippster is it possible to make a digi beta tape from a DVD?

    Quick answer Pt. 2: But to stay completely in the digital realm you would have to ingest the DVD into an NLE (Non-linear editor, like Final Cut Pro or Avid) and have an SDI (which is both video and audio in one data stream) output that you can hook into a DigiBeta deck.

    Otherwise you need to convert it to Analog and then record it via the analog inputs on the back of the Digibeta deck. This is actually OK to do if you use the RGB input/output rather than composite for the video. S-Video is slightly better than composite, but honestly not that much.

    I actually thought tip just got paid to point a camera where he was told. Who knew there was actual knowledge involved?
