Need some help finding a job in SLC area

I just moved to Utah and have been having a hard time finding a decent job . My last job was at a ski/bike shop, didn’t pay the greatest but i the people that i worked with made it worthwhile. Not necessarily married to the ski/bike thing; not out of the question either. Hoping that someone might have some ideas on where i could find a job. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks

Would you be open to working in an office environment? If so, my company is always hiring. Start out pay averages around 35K-55K/yr first year, 55-80K second year and usually 100K+ in the third year. Its damned hard work, but the job absolutely rocks, and the people that work here are great. If you are interested, send me a PM with your name and phone# and I will call you to give you more details. For legal reasons, I cant say the job over the net because people accross state lines can read it and could possibly consider it an advertisement (My industry is VERY regulated by the gov).

I *think* we've changed that to just 1 month before the gear discounts start.

ROFL I already pay for insurance to cover my butt if someone tries to sue me. I'm not too worried about identity theft because I used to do fraud investigations for several major corporations and part of that included dealing with identity theft.

^^^ Anything that promises to boost your pay from 30k to 6 figures in 3 years and is offered over the internet to those with zero qualifications or expertise is most likely illegal, or fraud, or prostitution.

I was working with Rossignol on their move to Park City and last time we talked they were doing a ton of hiring. I'd check their site, or hit Monster. The jobs they are doing now don't fall into my company's line but it might be worth a look. Of course the communte to Park City would suck on a good snow day, but then it would be a good snow day and involve a long "Pow" lunch.

    Good Luck,

There are no promises where I work, those are just some averages. There are some people that have worked here for 3 years and are still making only 50K...we have another person in her 2nd year who has seen over 100K this year already.. As far as qualifications go, yes, there are qualifications...infact enough so that they scare most people away, or people arent willing to go through the hassel to get qualified.

And what "industry" would that be? Or is it a "family" business?

Financial. There is alot of licensing required, both on the federal level, as well as the state level. My licensing is in Utah. Therefore I cannot say anything about my position within the industry or what exactly I do because it can be considered advertising or an attempt to solicit business. By giving a description of your services, and what you do, people may see that description and inquire about your services. Because of this, it would be considered advertising. I can legally advertise in Utah where I am licensed, however am not legally allowed to advertise in other states. By putting a description of my services on the internet someone from another state could read my job description and inquire about my services..which from a regulator standpoint means that I advertised to them in an illegal mannor since I am not licensed in that state. Clear as mud, right? For those of you that already know my position, I am not allowed to discuss it over the internet in any detail, so dont try and get me to answer questions about it Additionally, if you are in another state, I cant even talk to you on the phone about it (its fine if you are in Utah).

Actually it sounds to me like schmoesmith is just overly uptight about his job. It's an internet forum buddy, no one knows (or cares) about your real identity, and your job cold calling people who make more money than you to sell stock is not some sort of "secret agent" shit.
