Anyone know how to save YouTube videos to harddrive?

Would like to save a few vids off YouTube to my harddrive but doesn't seem to be an obvious way to do it. Any suggestions?

They're probably stored in your browser's cache folder.

Assuming you're on Windows using Internet Explorer, take a look in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USERNAME\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files, where you'd replace the text YOUR USERNAME with the profile name you use to login to Windows.

From what I can tell, they're encoded as Flash Videos (.flv) so you'll either need the developer version of Macromedia Flash (not just the free player) to re-encode them into a new swf file, or Google for an flv player, looks like there are quite a few free players available.

    Hope that helps!
I'm sick of following my dreams. I'm just gonna ask them where they're goin' and hook up with 'em later.

    Cool man!
Had already figured to look in the cache but the YouTube files are generic with no designation. Renaming with the ".flv" at the end did the trick.
    Thanks Coastal!
