    Just to keep the discussion focused on Jerry - Mr. Hunter wrote the lyrics, Mr. Garcia wrote the Music. There are quite a few instances where the lyrics as written were altered by Jerry for one reason or another, but that hardly qualifies as creating them.

    No slam on Jerry meant at all - Elton John had Bernie Taupin, and they wrote some great songs together. Cue the haters.... 3.... 2... 1...

    no mentions of michael houser in this thread? hmm well i'm not going to start another thread dedicated to that man but aug 8 and 9 are both days of loss in my music world.
