    arriflex 16 questions

Ive got a 12-120 lens that I use, but wondering what other lenses you would recommend or what you find useful to have in the bag. Obviously a huge telephoto would be sick for peak to peak filming, but im not at the heli drop off level of filming yet.

could you tell me what kind of battery setups youre running for the 12v ? If its a custom build job would you be wiling to point me towards some directions or do it yourself info? My batteries are HEAVY and i do not want to be lugging them around ever again if i can help it.

for a long lens, we use Ang 12-240mm bayonet mount. in addition to the 12-120, we also have Ang 10-150. for wide angle we use both Ang 5.9mm and Kinoptik 5.7 standard mount lenses. our batteries are custom built by our resident mad scientist "The Suit". they are dual batts that, run together allow us to shoot at over 120fps.

if your looking for good 16mm glass, check out Whitehouse AV. ask for Ken. he's spent the last 15 odd years working on lenses. whatever he's selling is worth the price or more.

    hope that helps ya along.

"There's no excuses. No one has ever paid admission to see an excuse. No one has ever faced a black screen that says, 'Well, if we had these set of circumstances we would have shot this scene, so please forgive us and use your imagination.' I've been to the movies hundreds of times, that's never occurred." - Mark Borchardt, American Movie
