I'd rather ski it than run it - thats for sure.
My buddy has worked that race at some of the stations & said the runners were like zombies in some rythmical trance. & that if you didn't finish before dark on the second day the psychological impacts were heavy/out there.
Also there were all ready some racers camping for the summer at high elevation & training up there (Ophir pass) when we were there (along with butt-loads of snow) back prior to mid May.
