    Dane Reynolds - First Chapter

Haven't seen it yet but just checked this promo teaser on surfline. Looks facking ridiculous. First example I've seen of him surfing on a level commensurate with the hype surrounding him:

    Comes out in August supposedly.

    Thumbs up

I had a couple of surfs with him in Oz not too long ago at my home break, a random beach south of Sydney. The guy is a fucking sickbird and super humble too, blasting 6 foot airs off 3 foot waves, alley oops, reverses, and all types of spinny-spin spin. The term "next Kelly Slater" gets thrown around a lot, but if anyone deserves this label, it's this guy.

After seeing that clip, I believe it. I'd only seen him in "Young Guns" and a couple Taylor Steele flicks. All very impressive, but a notch below Bruce Irons, Parko, Fanning, Jamie O'Brien, etc. in terms of taking the Slater revolution to the next level. (Did you see the Jamie O'Brien section in Campaign 2? FACK!)

Now I'm a believer. So innovative. Can't wait to see the full length flick.

Me neither. Very pleased to find out the Ventura show is Free, as in beer.

Some very progressive surfing, but it definitely felt like the 'first chapter'. Hope he can keep his head in it... he's living the life of the surfstar now. Ferociously wasted, hot chics, RV, his face (literally) plastered everywhere and sycophants.

Oh, and Ventura theatre. stinky, plastic patio furniture and $9 beers.

No such thing as a free lunch, I guess (or "you get what you pay for," choose your cliche).

Sounds like it was worth watching but perhaps not as mind-boggling as the teaser would lead one to believe. I'll have to find out when the San Diego premiere is.
I should want to cook him a simple meal, but I shouldn't want to cut into him, to tear the flesh, to wear the flesh, to be born unto new worlds where his flesh becomes my key.

does anyone else find that teaser un-mind boggling? sure there were snippets of stuff I haven't seen before, but the guy is a nasty surfer and spent a year filming...that is a lot of attempts that didn't make the cut, explosions, etc. i dunno. arcing massive bottom turns on silly good waves gets me going more i guess.
    Craig Kelly is my co-pilot.
