Anyone know much about K2 Instinx or Line Shadow?

Apologies for the semi-cross-post from Gear Swap.

I'm looking for a pair of cheapish mid-fats for my wife, to compliment her 05/06 Phat Luvs (95mm). Something with a waist around 80, in the mid-160s (or 160 if they're K2s).

I've seen decent deals on the Line Shadow (110/80/103), but don't know anything about them other than the dimensions and graphics. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Also, does anyone know anything about the K2 Instinx (117-78-105), other than that it's the World Piste minus a layer of metal? Were they pretty much the same as a non-tele K2, and if so, which? Can they be mounted alpine, notwithstanding the tele inserts?

All i know is that the shadow is the same shape as the Line Chronic but its lighter and softer. others have said that its a great ski for a lightweight skier.

I don't know the indepth technical details of the Instinx but my wife has a pair and loves the. If you look around you can probably find them for pretty cheap. (i've seen then for under 200$ a pair).

I don't see any reason why you couldn't mount Instinx alpine if you wanted to and the inserts don't conflict with where you want to drill them.

I demoed Instinx like 2 years ago at a tele clinic. I like Phat Luvs, but didn't really like the Instinx all that much - just felt like I overpowered them. I also demoed Hippy Stinx that weekend and bought those. Mind you, I'm not that good at tele, and am used to fatter skis, so take that into account. But I have tried skinnier tele skis that I liked a lot better (but they were Atomic mens... can't remember which model, but probably 80 underfoot).

You didn't say how tall she is or anything though. I'm 5'9" - so if she's pretty small/light, they may be just right for her. And I have seen them cheap too.

Don't know anything about the Line skis though.

Sorry -- she's 5'4" on a tall day, loves her 160 Phat Luvs, and doesn't really care much for speed.

Evogear has the Instinx for $169. A few days ago, someone had the Shadows for under $200, but that appears to be history.

Keeping my eyes peeled; thanks all.
