You missed the party of a lifetime Particle....It was off the hook, and can't really be put into words. I'll let SC1776 explain it all in detail. Lets just say our crew woke up at 8:00 AM this morning in the Armada house... I'm still hungover.

Nice Blurred! Yeah every Vid Awards has been the party of the year for me...I'm sure this one was even better being in Aspen.

Shamrock and Ted--sounds like you two are in the mood for some lovin yourselves. Maybe you should get on each others' asses instead of blurreds.

    Thumbs up

These would be up on Powdermag if my fucking e-mail would work!

But, for the maggots, the winners are:

    Best Line: Hugo Harrison, Focused
Best Powder: Rick Greener, Dave McReynolds, Will Burks--High Life
    Best P.O.V: Shane McConkey, Focused
    Breakthrough Performer: Pep Fujas
Best Cliff Huck: Jamie Pierre, High Life
    Best Slam: Aaron McGovern, Focused
Best Trick: Pep Fujas, Session 1242
    Full Throttle: Shane McConkey, Focused
Best Female: Sarah Burke, Exact Science
    Best Male: Sage Cattabriga-Alosa
Movie of the Year: High Life, TGR.

We have a few stories up. More to come, with photos and video from the night. check it at: www.powdermag.com

Thanks to everyone who showed up. It was our best show ever. Uncle E did a kick ass job. Sarah Burke looked HOT! as always. The St. Regis rocked. ESPN cameras were roaming the venue. And we even had a snowboarder on stage; Gov had a friend accept his award, and give it to Darian Boyle. It was a classy move, even if the heckling from the crowd wasn't.

We're planning to have DVDs of the entire event, acceptance speaches and all, available on the Powder to the People Tour. Limited edition.

Word, Stryker. The skiers make it all happen. They are the stars and the reason why we do the show. Our little way of showing some appreciation. It's the only event Primedia let's us take a loss on.

Why isn't Kent Kreitler listed for anything? He OWNED this year. Tossed and stuck a bigger variety of tricks in gnarlier terrain than Sage. Sage is beyond sick, but Kent was out of his head this year.

Wow, I never thought of that, but you are so right MD9.
He's kind of been mediocre in the past, but I'd have to agree with you that his segments this year showed that he stepped up his shit REALLY HARD, and that should'nt be overlooked, and he deserves some accolades. Good insight.

He was nominated for Best Male, but we felt Sage's segment was stronger for a couple of reasons.

    1) It seems like Kent has more variety, but only because of the front flip and backflip, which aren't very technical or progressive. The rest of his tricks are 3s and 7s, and they're all spun natural. Sage is linking up more than one trick per line, and he's spinning both directions, which is very difficult. He also has big park tricks; switch take-offs, landings, and carves; and rails.

    2) Kent didn't have the big lines that Sage has, especially the AK line he got nominated for Best Line for. We know Kent can ski those, but he didn't have them on film this year.

We had a good idea it would be Kent or Sage early on, and asked a lot of people, including people at TGR, and settled on Sage.

It was definitely going to be between those 2, but you can't convince me otherwise. It seemed like Sage didn't get upside-down once in the entire flick. Most of his unnatural spins and switch stuff went down in the park not big mountain. Kent's corked 7 was as stylie as they get, off a huge cliff and stuck smoov. I think he had more tricks, rotated on more axisies (sp?), and generally kicked more ass. Too bad his tricks weren't the trendy (look I spun to the right instead of the left kind).

I like "axisies," but I think the word you're going for is "axes."
