    Coming to Idaho

Myself, my fabulous lady & the dog are coming to Idaho to ride mt./road bikes for 9 days starting Aug. 11th. We're looking for two good spots to base camp out of for 3-4 days each of riding and hot springing. Hot springs nearby are mandatory. Not afraid to hike in a little ways so long as the pooch is welcome. Not interested in developed campsites unless absolutely necessary. Having one nearby for water/bathroom/shower access would be kewl though. Neither of us have ever been riding in Idaho. I thought I was spoiled after 10 years of living in Crested Butte, but have been told Idaho might be even better singletrack and can't wait to find out. Looking for the can't miss rides/hot springs combo. Also, we're tentatively planning on ending the trip in the Sun Valley/Ketchum area, so I'm also looking for a relatively stylee hotel/your rental that takes dogs for the last night or two. Barters availabe. Would love to hook up with some of y'all psychos for a ride a beer and general debauchery if it all works out right. Mebbe 50/50 between SV and Stanley??? I've heard it's good in Stanley, at least I think that's the name of the town. I be Idaho jong, so I'm basically clueless.
The older I get, the better I was.

I would say check out the McCall area first. Awesome riding around McCall and you have Brundage and Tamarack both spinning the chairs for the summer. Go south on hwy 55 and take a left at Banks up to Stanley and ride that area along with Ketchum/Sun Valley for a couple days. I would just stop at shops to get trail beta and pm me for hot springs. Not many mags north of Boise until you hit Couer d' Alene but The Reverend and Jimmy Page are a couple of good sources out of Ketchum.

Stanley is the name of the town. It's at the north end of the Sawtooth Corridor. You have the Sawtooths, White Clouds, Boulders and Little Smokies in that area.

I should be around. PM me and I can get you more info on camping around the SV area. There is plenty of riding both here and in Stanley. As far a getting a condo, I would book one in advance since things have been pretty much full here in Ketchum on the weekends. Not sure which ones allow dogs though. Your best bet would be to camp at one of the free spots close to town. If you know where to look there are plenty within ten miles of Ketchum/SV.
