    persistant knee ache

    Hi

    Background
    Male 36 6'02" 195 lbs good shape.
R knee two knee surgaries 91 and 94
    1st crondomalacia (sp?)
2nd LCL partial and MCL torn (ski racing)

    L Knee one surgary 97
car accident MCL tear and Medial meniscus tear.

    2002 windsurfing accident
backwards twisting fall L foot still in straps.
    fallout stretched ACL (Left)
    aggravited meniscus injury (L)
Doctor would not operate because the ACL was not torn
    PT only
Left knee has always felt a lil loose.
I can hyperextend it a little to much for my comfort approx 5-10 degrees more than the Right leg.

    2002-2006
    Knee ache (Left only)
Hiking, I am fine uphill until I turn around and go downhill. knee swells up. Medial meniscus side is painful coupled with pain in the back of the knee

Biking If I keep the ride under 2 hours I am fine but any longer I aggravate the meniscus also, coupled with pain in the back of the knee

Skiing - two days charging hard in a row will aggravate the L knee. Swells
painful in the back of the knee and along the mensicus

this may sond kinda fuzzy ( I assure you I am not stoned )
I can notice the left inside portion of my knee where as I cannot notice the right. By notice I mean that there is a direct feeling in there. kinda dull ache. But it is always there. Another thing that is strange with the L knee is that it seems that I can feel the blood flow more than the R knee. Like I can check my heartrate with the knee but there aren't any blood vessels inside there.
another fuzzy comment is I can really get the joint to flex tortionally in and out in a rotation motion. in both directions <<< and >>>. until it pops and relieves the pressure kinda like a fault line before a earthquake releases the built up pressure.

Finally when I push down and up on the clutch on my nissan truck my knee will feel loose.

I have gone to two seperate doctors 2002 and 2004 complaining about a loose knee. 2 sets of MRI later and both came with the same diagnosis. My acl is loose but not torn. No need to operate. My complaint is my L knee bothers me. Every day! I use IB 800 MG to deal with the ache.

Is there something I can do to aleviate the pain. Is this arthritis that I am describing? Will a brace help? I have never been a fan of knee braces but will try anything at this point.

    Kevin
