    Hey what is the best FTP software out there for mac???? Free is key.

    mac comes with free ftp software
    just open a shell, type
    ftp myhost.com
    and have at it.

    The geek above ^^^^^^^ beat me to it.

    But, Cyberduck does look like a good option, especially since it supports Secure FTP (SFTP) and it's open source.

    Fast,very reliable and easy to use. Have used if for the last 3-4yrs withour glitches.

    The floggings will continue until morale improves.

    I presume you're looking for an FTP client, not server?

    Lately, I run the FireFTP extension in Firefox on both Mac and PC. Works like a charm, right down to remembering userid/pw combinations. Good shit.

    I always use the command line ftp client but my GF likes Transmit and I have to admit it is nice to look at and easy to use.

    ftp is also built into ALL modern web browsers. just replace http:// with ftp://

    For FTP Transmit cannot be beat.
