    Thumbs down Just got robbed

Someone snatched my Ipod, FM transmitter, and $103 out of my car. Between 2:10AM and 3:00AM in Howard fucking County..... WTF. This place has like 1 robbery a month. Oh well, lesson learned never leaving my doors unlocked again for any amount of time, could have been alot worse.

P.S. Fuck you to the fucking fucks that did it.

The concept of leaving gear in a car at night with the doors unlocked kinda blows me away.

Sorry you had to be that statistic.

    That sucks.

There are places where I'll still leave the keys in the ignition.

I get nervous about the keys being in the ignition when I'm driving my damn car around South London.

Damn that sucks. Where is Howard fucking county?

Why don't Ipods have some sort of security code that makes it only work with the owner's computer? Seems simple enough. Am I on to something?

Heh, here in the winter pretty much everyone's cars are running at the store, resturaunts etc. That was a shock after living in Tucson for 10 years.

Howard County, not Baltimore County... Was it lying out plain to see, Droopy? If yes, were you drunk or did you suffer a blunt impact to the cranium?

People are jacking iPods on the Metro in DC. The fucking safest public transport (according to them) in the Nation.

Yeah, I tend to just associate MD with criminals in general--Montgomery, Howard, PG, they all blend together in my mind.

Meth addicts, probably, but drive-bys? There's been one homicide a year in HoCo for the last 5 years (out of curiosity, just checked the crime stats).

edit - I did not realize CantDog was such a NoVa snob.

edit edit - forgot winky thing.

Yeah I live in the ghetto, cant. You should come visit sometime, unless you're scared.

And Howard (as the 29th-wealthiest county in the nation) isn't quite as wealthy as your home county of Fairfax (11-th richest) or mine (15th), but it is hardly a ghetto. Howard ranks right in front of Teton County Wyoming, in fact.

Fairfax represent! It used to be ranked highest based on gross income I believe about 5 years ago. Now its going down the shitter.

I should of inserted a winky with my Howard comments, though to ease up any confusion.

Growing up I was always told to fear maryland east of Silver Spring. West of it was okay though.

Is PG still as bad as it was 5 years ago? I remember what seemed like a murder everyday.

Well it's a huge county and goes from very urban to very rural, but the urban parts are about as bad as ever I'd say.

Back in high school I was looking at buying a 1968 chevelle, and went and looked at a car in PG county. I dont think I've ever felt as out of place in my life.

Pretty sure the car was stolen too.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your gear Droopy. All thieves should be shot.

Fairfax county may be high on the wealthiest counties list, but we still are a hotbed for MS-13. Yeaaaaa gangs.......

So are you in the area now, Cant? Are you gonna sack up for some cocktails, or do I need to taunt you a second time?

    PG represent right here, yo!

Yeah, PG definitely runs the gammit. No one has ever been shot at any of my parties, but I always tell people, if you want to be a cop and get to discharge your weapon, PG is the place to be!!

Sorry about that mate. It will all equalize out. Global warming will end our sub-zero winter temps and we won't be forced to run our cars to avoid dying from exposure.

Bummer dude... Sorry to hear that.

I used to be able to leave car running / keys in it / unlocked around here too. I just don't feel comfortable doing that anymore, with all the 'students' we get here from all over the place to go to WyoTech and UW. Not to mention the increase of the strange people coming off the interstate...

    Not the same anymore...
