Santa Cruz Hell Ride III - anyone entered?

This looks insane. I'm definitely NOT entering, but figured some of you nutjobs might ....

I read the reports from last year's ride, which took place around Downieville, and it definitely sounds burly. What a cool opportunity for the right person!

    Here's last year's report:

That looks awesome! I'm too out of it this year, but I'll enter next year. I'm a sadistic bastard and can usually handle anything for 1 day....

I have done the climb from town on many occassions, and its a lonnng, hot one, but easily do'able. We used to shun the shuttle, thought it wasd for fat down hillers who couldn't climb (but were secretly jealous as they flew past in the AC'd van on the fire road - bastards!)....and did the big climb on the XC race a few times at D'Ville, which is a variation of this...but it was something like 6k of climbing vs 13+ I read in this ride description?? did i read that right?

They ride from d'ville to graegle and back. I'm pretty sure that's more than 6K

I submitted an application for the first one. I thought about it last year but the bike they give you is a nomad.

The vpfree was worth it on the first one.

yeah, probably closer to 8k we did on a few occassions, I don't know, I don't ride with a computer..and yeah, for thw VPFree, might be worth it (but a hell of a lot harder too - can you imagine dragging that beast up and over 13k of climbs

They did that first one around santa cruz. At least the dirt is easier to climb on.

Hmmm, why hasn't Shoe posted in this thread yet???

    1) He wants a Nomad.
    2) He is an alien when it comes to climbing and all day endurance.

SHOE, sign up before I do it for you!

hahaha...thanks. I signed up last year, but forgot about this this year. I don't think I'm in as good a shape this year as I was last, but waddafuck, since you called me an alien, how can I say no to that?

(btw -- picking up my Bullet from the shop today...finally)

EDIT: oh well, registration for hellride 3 is over. missed it.
