Temple Basin Closed - Goods Lift Broken

Reports from Temple are that the goods lift has come free from it's earthly ties at the top of the cableway....a team of intrepid pie-eating Kiwis is en route to ascertain the damage and hopefully fix the problem....will post updates as they become available. The good news is that it snowed a meter there!!!

    First thought:
It's about damn time. Drunken transport, a rumoured basejump, and general dodginess.

    Second thought:
Hope they can get it up and running and stay in business this season - being closed for what looks a good snowpack would be

I've never been to NZ, but I have to say that any restort that would name a lift the GOODS lift gets points from me. That name rules.

It's for goods - people are forbidden to ride it. People have to walk up. 'cept for fat cat PMs, they get choppered in. My back is still done in from carrying cases of Speight's to the lodge.
