    Adam Carolla interviews Ann Coulter

    http://www.chortler.com/24644carolla.shtml

ADAM CAROLLA: Ann Coulter, who was supposed to be on the show about an hour and a half ago, is now on the phone, as well. Ann?

    ANN COULTER: Hello.

CAROLLA: Hi Ann. You're late, babydoll.

COULTER: Uh, somebody gave me the wrong number.

CAROLLA: Mmm… how did you get the right number? Just dialed randomly - eventually got to our show? (Laughter in background)

COULTER: Um, no. My publicist e-mailed it to me, I guess, after checking with you.

    CAROLLA: Ahh, I see.

COULTER: But I am really tight on time right now because I already had a -

    CAROLLA: Alright, well, get lost.

    [Carolla hangs up on Coulter]

I find him amusing. Much more than former cohort Jimmy Kimmel.

    But that was fucking hilarious.

I dunno. I mean, coulter is such an easy target, it seems he should have done more.

She has been on his show several times, and it typically goes like it does when she is on any show, except Adam is funnier than most other hosts. There used to be an online archive of all the morning shows, but CBS radio shut it down, the bastards.

Nope -- Dr. Drew and a guest, IIRC.

Yeah, most of the time there's a guest, and they have sort of regular cohosts as well. Nicole Alvarez has been on a bunch as well as, heh, Ted Stryker, and Steve O has done the show about a thousand times. Nicole and Ted are ok but nowhere as good as Adam was, and Steve O is pretty lame. They used to have David Alan Grier on all the time. He was hilarious but I think they said he was too unreliable to make the permanent cohost.

DAG and Drew didn't get along all that well either. Loveline just isn't the same without Adam...

Huh - every time Loveline came on the radio it precipitated an immediate channel change. Those bimbos (male & female) who called in were just too annoying. Guess it's a generational thing, since I was long out of High School when that show started.

Loveline actually started back in the early 80s on KROQ in LA. The Poorman was the original host and did the show with Dr. Drew for a long time. Riki Rachtman took over 10 years later and stunk up the place. Then Carolla jumped on board a couple of years later.

I always like the Poorman the best of all the hosts, but nobody knows about him since the show didn't get syndicated until the time Carolla jumped on board. That had more to do with the fact that KROQ was being sydicated all over the place than the fact that Carolla was on board.

According to Drew, the show started when he was asked to do a sort of "ask the doc anything" segment on a late night Sunday show while he was in med school at USC and it sort of took off from there. He didn't get paid for probably the first 8 years or so and it was only once a week at that time.

I didn't think there were any fans on here because I've posted clips once or twice and got no response.
