Jamie Pierre Headcam Video from Alta 1/21

Well, what an interesting day at Alta...100% clear skies, pretty much empty slopes, and some good company. If you didn't see the other post, we were there producing a story about Jamie Pierre - according to Powder Magazine, "Skiings Most Dangerous Man"

My videographer Matt and I were joined by Mr. Altagirl, and Altoid Brad, along with Shawn, who owns http://www.sportzshot.com , and Jamie.

I only have two videos from today digitized so far both are in Quicktime, the first is Jamie in the trees somewhere on the Wildcat side...(3.86 megs)

    Video #1

The second is Jamie taking a little jump near Bad News. (3.19 megs)
    Video #2

First movie clip had me laughing since his tree scratching attitude to find the last questionable puny scraps of fresh is (embarrassed to admit it) similar to my own.

Gee wish I had one of those head cams. Red B, sound or not? I wasn't getting any sound on either of your videos although when I run Quicktime on the Apple QT site's movies sound is normal.

Crude vids are my favorite threads on the forum. -dave

#2 = top part of the double in that area. He avoided the lower drop but it went from about a 10 to a 2 footer over Christmas/ New Years.

Xover, you should have been up yesterday. Conditions were fun (very fast, softening in the sun) and it was fun skiing with Jamie. He's actually a really cool guy and very committed to skiing. I took them all over to Bad News and actually found some good snow; I think we found that 5-14 mm that Andrew McLean was boosting about. Jamie pointed out the hit he did a full/ full over all of Bad News the same day DTM was hucking, pretty impressive.

Bottom line, don't avoid Alta right now. The snow is great for going 60MPH and fun little features are popping up all over the place. See you up there.

There's some sound there, but not much; I had to bring the video in, in analog instead of firewire, and when I do that, the sound isn't very good. I tried to kick it up a bit in editing, but it didn't help, if you really crank it, you should hear something...

The headcams from that company are really cool, they have a remote on/off switch, a microphone, and the top-level one has 480 lines of resolution...

I'll do some more work on the video today and post a few more clips, I've got a few good ones where he's throwing 180's and riding switch...

The story will air in about a month, I'll let everyone here know the exact date later on!

That was a pretty good read on him in Powder, an actual article that was more than 3 pages long. Next powder coming in August! what the fuck!
