Yes you would be Ms.C. Thanks for the advice. And as for diet, oh I'm putting in PLENTY of fuel it is the holidays! Deer camp was a blast, I got 4 so I have plenty of protein to fuel those cold winter runs. And a ton to take to GUYS WEEK in Montana for our little skiing adventure.
Thanks again,
Jay

there's more I'd like to write.. but i can't remember it all.
Just a little FYI, watch what "supplements" you're including on your training program. Frankly this article surprised me, I don't think of marathons and steroids as a compatable mix. http://www.startribune.com/503/story/876038.html

People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

Did a 10-mile NYRR Hot Chocolate road race in Central Park today as part of Ironman training. Because it was a training run, I wasn't supposed to let my HR get above 165 (my zone is 145-165 for training).
Anyways, my time was 1:43:06 which is 10:23 miles. I don't know how much faster it would have been if I could have let my HR go up... I felt really strong the entire time though, so I take that as a good sign. Maybe this HR training nonsense actually works!
And now I am off to swim 3000 meters at the pool
Oh- the one notible thing that happened was at the turn between mile 5 and 6- I got trampled by some dude who was trying to cut off the corner. He jumped back into the lane right on top of me and we both fell. I hit the ground rolling and cut open my elbow. Lame. So much for my cat-like ninja reflexes. Blood was literally coming down my arm so I mopped it up with my shirt, got up and kept running. I figured it was good to have something crazy like this happen during a race to prep me in case I crash my bike during IMKY. The race was REALLY crowded because they made us all stay in the road lane of the CP loop... think running a road race in a corral.
