TDF 2006: Stage 2 (spoiler alert)
Well, typical first week stage. Small early break, lasts until the final 20 miles when the big guns drop the hammer.
Nice counterattack by Kessler in the final km. I was kind of bummed to see him get cought with only meters to the finish. But that's racing. None of the sprinters' teams seemed to want to do any work today.
George is out of yellow, but that was probably the plan. Disco doesn't want to wear themselves out defending the jersey at this point in the race.
Tomorrow should see more of the same, although I predict a bigger break (15-20 riders) to get away and have at least ten left to sprint out the finish.
