    TDF 2006: Stage 1

Hincapie in Yellow! Gotta like that.

But it ended with Thor being cut in the arm by means of a stupid PMU hand.
A paper cut. But a bad one, blood everywhere.

First rule of TdF Club is DON'T POST RESULTS IN THREAD TITLES
Stoked to see George in yellow. It's pretty cool to have raced against a yellow jersey winner.

Was it a paper cut? I thought maybe he hit a barrier and got cut. Hard to imagine a foam rubber finger doing that much damage, evet at 40 MPH. Perhaps it was from ThinderStix? either way, that sucks. But these guys are tough, and unless it's a major gash, I expext to see a viking on the start line tomorrow.

plakespear, i meant for TeleAl to put the word "spoiler" in the title of a thread that will have the results in, not actual results.

it's common courtesy on the intarweb (see football world cup thread for example)

It wasn't a foam rubber hand, it was a cardboard (poster-board) hand.

Helied to hostipal, deep gash, lots of blood, but not serious. Stitches and will likely resume the Tour tomorrow.

Pretty gnar, you can see him here (second from L) just before crossing the finish line with blood gushing down his arm.

Check out this vid, blood all over.

Glad he's gonna be OK. It'll suck to race with a big wound like that though.

Great to see Nils' old racing nemesis in yellow.

Thor was bleeding like a stuck pig. Legal doping? Maybe they'll top off his blood supply.

Seriously. Just imagine getting a nasty laceration right when you;re close to max HR in an all out sprint, 190+ bpm with all that blood being pumped out of the gash. Pretty much couldn't be a worse time to get a cut like that. Yeech.

I was just following the format from last year.
Every day a new thread will start with a title like:
    TDF Stage2
    TDF Stage3

Results will be posted in these threads.

Sorry if it spoiled your news. Wasn't my intention.

Now then, what's the news with Thor? Is he riding?

I think the general concensus is that also throwing a "spoiler alert" into the thread title would be nice.
